A NOTE FROM MARILYN
I want all of you to know that I have received several very moving “thank yous” from prayer shawl recipients over the last few weeks and I want to let you know how much your efforts are appreciated! I am very thankful for all of you who are making and contributing the shawls for our ministry at CLC. Even during the Covid crisis where few of us have been in the church building, the shawl cabinet has remained supplied with pretty shawls.
ABOUT THE PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
PRAYER SHAWLS ARE KNIT TOGETHER IN PRAYER
These prayer shawls are knit with love or crocheted with love by members of the Christ Lutheran Church community. So if you find yourself at home without much to-do and you are a yarn lover, please feel free to pick up some supplies and make a prayer shawl. The bottom section of the cabinet has a lot of yarn ready for the taking. If you want to stop in during office hours, or give Marilyn a call to let you in at another time, please take some to make your shawls. The yarn has been sorted so that there is enough in each package to make one shawl.
PRAYER SHAWLS ARE GIFTED WITH LOVE
As a reminder to everyone these prayer shawls are available for you to give to anyone who might find comfort from one - they are not meant only for members of our church.
Each shawl contains two notes of love.
"This healing shawl is a gift to you. Each time I picked the yarn and needles to work on this shawl, I prayed:
Creator God, may this shawl be a sign of your healing presence. May it warm those who are weary, surround those who suffer and encircle those who are in pain. May your gentle touch reach out to heal in the light of Christ.
I hope that the warmth of this shawl will bring you a sense of God's peace and healing each time you wrap it around your shoulders.
God bless you,
Prayer Shawl Group"
"A Prayer Shawl for Your Pocket
We've made this little prayer shawl to keep you company while you are waiting for news, going through a sad, lonely or stressful time. Let this small shawl remind you of God's unconditional love for you. Remember that there are many people who care about you and are praying for you. May God's strength lift and hold you up.
