Prayer Shawl Meetup – Tues Sept 19

Prayer Shawl Meetup FB (1)

Tuesday, September 19 @ 7:00 p.m. at Marilyn's House

Do you enjoy to knitting or crocheting? We would love you to join our meetup at Marilyn’s house. It’s a great time to use your skills, no matter what level, to help us make prayer shawls and get a chance to get to know some great people!

If you need directions to the event please send us a message and we’ll get you the details on how to get to Marilyn’s house.

Can't make it Tuesday but love to knit/crochet? We can still use helpers to make more shawls. The cupboard in the gathering space is stocked with supplies and directions on how to make prayer shawls on your own.

A Note from Marilyn

If you are a knitter or crochetier, our group would like to invite you to join our prayer shawl ministry. We make shawls to be given to anyone who might need comfort. They can be given on pastoral visits, or taken by anyone who knows
someone they think would benefit from the comfort of one. We say prayers as we create them, that the person who receives one of our shawls might find healing or comfort. The shawls are stored in the cabinet by the welcome
center, and are available to anyone.

We meet monthly, usually at my home, on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. to work on our projects together. You can make the shawl however you choose, or there are patterns available in the cabinet where the shawls are
kept. You may choose some yarn from the bottom sections of the cabinet for your project, or make your shawl from the yarn of your choice. Suggested measurements are at least 15" by 60" for a rectangular shawl or it can be made
in a capelet style. We make them of yarns that are easily washed and dried in the machine.

We enjoy our times together, and would like to meet you. It's always fun to share ideas and just visit. It's a good way to meet people with common interest in crafting, and members you might not get to know otherwise. We will have
an informational table on September 10. Please come and check us out. We are a group of about 9 gals at this time, and we come to the meetings as our schedules allow. There is never a time schedule to complete your project. We'd
love to have more makers, as this is a popular ministry. A lot of shawls are taken, and we receive many positive comments from the recipients. I'm at the organ at the first service and would be glad to answer any questions you may have. Our next meeting will be Sept. 19
