As Ephesians 2:8-10 reminds us, we are what God has made us—people whom God has created by grace to live in union with Jesus Christ and has prepared to live faithful, fruitful lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ, God has reconciled us to God and to each other. As we gather around word and sacraments, this life in Christ is what defines, shapes and guides us as a community of faith, the church. By God’s grace we can and do live confidently and generously in this community of faith and in service of others. ELCA vital congregations work to strengthen their relationship with God, nurture relationships with each other and create a strong presence with their community.

Monetary

As members of the Church, we are called to give from our financial blessings as well. Through the faithful giving of CLC members, we are able to support our ministries and outreach programs, provide compensation to staff, and assist in the needs of our community.

E-GivinG/Online Giving

Did you know our church offers multiple ways to give? Our eGiving options are convenient alternatives to cash and checks, which are difficult to use if you’re joining us virtually and can easily be forgotten at home when worshipping in person. But that’s not the only reason to consider our eGiving program for your one-time gifts or recurring donations. Here are seven benefits of eGiving.

It Makes Giving Easy

eGiving makes it simple for you to give exactly how and when you want. You can make a one-time donation or set up recurring gifts right from your computer, tablet or phone.

It's Safe & Secure

You never need to worry about your donation making it into our account. Unlike with checks and cash, which can be misplaced, gifts made via eGiving are directly sent to our church’s bank account. Our payment solutions provider ensures your personal information remains secure.

No Cash, No Checks, No Problem

Never worry about forgetting your cash or checkbook at home again. With eGiving, you can make a donation right from your phone. For further worry-free giving, you can also set up recurring donations online, so your gift continues even when you can’t make it to service.

You Can Choose Where Your Gift Goes

We know our members feel passionately about supporting many causes. Our church uses donations to fund everything from mission trips to building maintenance. When you make a gift using our eGiving tools, you can direct the funds toward the cause you wish to support at our church.

It Gives Our Church Stability

Your generous donations support our mission, operations and many ministries. By setting up recurring donations online, you enable us to maintain financial stability and plan for the future.

You Can Give on The Go

With eGiving, you don’t have to physically be at church to contribute. Use our church’s convenient eGiving tools to donate from the beach, on the road or right at home.

You Can Easily Track Your Giving History

From your eGiving account, you can view past donations, update bank account or credit and debit card information, and set up recurring gifts or adjust existing ones.

In-Person or by mail

Each Sunday during services a collection plate will be passed (or available at the entrance during) for you to share you monetary donation (cash or check). If you wish to track your donations throughout the year, you can use the envelopes provided in the pew to designate where your offering is dedicated to. Church members will recieve a pack of custom numbered envelopes at the beginning of each year for this purpose.
If you are unable to attend the church service in person but still wish to support our mission utilizing a physical donation, you can drop off your offereing envelope during church office hours or mail it into the church.

Time & Talents

God's Work. Our Hands

As Christians we are one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. As part of giving we are called to minister to the people around us. At Christ Lutheran Church we offer many different opportunities to use our time and talents in this mission.

Church Ministries

At Christ Lutheran Church, we host a variety of programs, missions, and initiatives to facilitate fellowship and benefit our families, our church, and our community. We encourage all members to share their time and talents in any of our ministry areas and are always looking for new volunteers.

If you don't know who to contact or how to get ahold of the committee leaders, please contact the church office and we can direct you in the right direction. You can reach the office by email at office@clcwyoming.org or phone 616-532-2774.

  • Community Outreach & Evangelism Committee

As a church, we are called to reach out to and support the needs of our community. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, we provide resources for those in need and work to be the hands and feet of Christ in our area. Some examples of this work include:

    • Gladiola School
    • Back to School Bags - Each fall as we prepare for the start of a new school year, CLC creates bags for local students.

    • Holiday Food Baskets - During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, CLC members donate food items for baskets and we distribute to local families in need. For more information, contact Nancy Heidrich or Lisa Harris.
  • Personal Care Pantry

Once a month, Christ Lutheran Church holds a Personal Care Pantry to support 30 families in our community who are less fortunate. We provide them with basic needs, such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, shampoo, and other toiletries and essentials that are not available through government programs.

We set up these products like a shopping experience to allow families to select their products. We also provide a meal that allows these families to sit down and eat together.

We at Christ Lutheran believe that through this one ministry of many, we strengthen the Wyoming community through building connections and fostering health and wellness by making available basic hygienic products, while promoting respect and self-value for the families.

  • Blood Drive

Once a quarter, the Red Cross hosts a blood drive at Christ Lutheran Church. Watch the announcements for upcoming blood drives.
