Evangelism Committee

The Evangelism committee meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. We are always open to new ideas that will make our CLC members feel more connected and entice visitors to come back.

The daily devotion booklet Word in Season for the next three months is available at the Welcome center for anyone who would like to pick one up for themselves or a friend.

The Prayer Chain is made up of volunteers who are willing to pray for specific prayer requests  that may be needed at anytime. Vicki Blubaugh is the new prayer chain coordinator.  If you want to be a part of this power of prayer mission, please send her an email and she will add you to the prayer chain group.  All prayer requests that are sent via the prayer chain are confidential.  Prayer Warriors pray to God about your prayer request,  but do not share the situation or concern with others.  It is a wonderful way to support others in need and to ask, listen, and connect with God.  Vicki's email address is vmusnd@gmail.com.

Gladiola school volunteers are coordinated by Nan Larson 616-228-3381.  Food truck helpers have been assisting with distribution at a designated school once a month at 4:30 p.m. for an hour or so. Anyone can be helpful whether you can lift heavy boxes or not.   In-classroom volunteers will have to wait to see if schools open up for that kind of help this fall.  But the donation of school supplies will happen this summer. Watch the announcement pages for details.

Volunteers are also recruited by Sharon Mack to be at our Welcome Center following Sunday worship services. This has not been allowed during our Covid restrictions but will be returning as we open fully.

Thanks to Marcia Nichols for her scheduling of greeters who are the welcoming faces at the door before Sunday services.

Patrick Blanchard, in his position as Outreach Coordinator, works closely with this committee. We are pleased that Evangelism committee member, Nan Larson, is one of the members of the new search committee that will be interviewing to find the next Outreach Coordinator for this fall when Patrick leaves to go and do his pastoral internship.

For new CLC members, pre-Covid, we planned activities through the EMBRACE program to foster more connections within the church.  Even without a formal program, we encourage all our CLC members to be welcoming to anyone who looks new to them. If that person turns out to already be a member, then you have made a new friend!
