During our Contemporary Worship Service at 11:15 a.m., we offer a class designed for children between ages 3 and 6. Sprouts immediately follows the children’s sermon during the service and is a wonderful outlet for young children to develop friendships and grow in their faith.

Confirmation classes are open to youth entering 7th and 8th grade. If your child is older, or if you are interested in being confirmed as an adult, please call the church and speak with Tara Williams by email at or phone 616-532-2774 ext. 203.

Our Confirmation Program consists of two years of instruction that cover the five promises that are made during the Affirmation of Baptism. Affirmation of Baptism is made at the completion of the Confirmation Program.

The Five Promises of the Affirmation of Baptism:

  • To live among God’s faithful people
  • To hear his Word and share in his supper
  • To proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed
  • To serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus
  • To strive for justice and peace in all the Earth

This year, we are returning to the “Here We Stand” curriculum for our Confirmation Program. Seventh and eighth grade classes will be taught separately by our Youth and Family Ministries Coordinator and Pastor Justin, respectively.

Confirmation class meets every Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and also includes a time of fellowship and relationship building both between the entire confirmation class and with our high school youth group, Mosaic. We also encourage youth in our Confirmation Program to participate in a variety of youth activities offered by the church.

To enroll your child in Confirmation classes, please contact Tara Williams by email at or phone 616-532-2774 ext. 203.

Youth Groups

At Christ Lutheran Church, we have three youth groups divided by age groups. Each group participates in a variety of activities throughout the year, encouraging relationship building between students and helping them to grow closer to Christ and to each other.

We have multiple women’s ministries at Christ Lutheran Church, and you can participate in as few or as many as you would like! Our weekly annoucements will contain the current opportunities and the contact for each of these events.

  • Sisters
This women’s bible study meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7 p.m. New faces are always welcome!
  • Laugh, Love & Lunch
This is a monthly time of fellowship with other women in the church. Each month we pick a restaurant and get together for a great time of laughter and fellowship with anyone who can make it! Keep an eye on the announcements for where we will meet next.

At Christ Lutheran Church, we encourage our community to spend time together, not just in study of the Word and worship, but in a variety of social activities throughout the year. Check out our calendar for upcoming events.

Some activities include:

  • Camping: We plan an annual camping trip each year for our CLC families.
  • Game Nights: Periodically throughout the year we have Euchre tournaments or other social game nights.
  • Parking Lot Party: An annual event put on as a youth fundraiser and a great way for our church to hang out with each other.
  • Habitat for Hummanity BBQ Cook-Off: Annual fundraiser event in partnership with other area Lutheran churches taking turns hosting. Several teams compete to bring home the Golden Spatula won by raising the most money for Habitat for Humanity.
